She has been actively involved in BDSM communities since January 2007, and began her academic investigations of the subculture shortly thereafter, after discovering how little credible, sympathetic research has been published to date. She identifies at this point as queer and primarily submissive, but is eager to explore, learn and see where her experiences take her!

Mitch – Toronto, ON

The Call to Serve

Mitch is a paddler (canoes, you perverts), a tree-hugger, an academic, a high school teacher, a queer and trans youth mentor, and a fairy, or maybe a pirate, depending on the day. He made his way into the leather scene in early 2007 and later that year found himself snatched up by a dyke dominant who wanted to own his cute butt (and the rest of him too). Since then he’s lived as a collared boi in a 24/7 D/s relationship that gives him a place to channel his lifelong desire to serve. He’s interested in exploring many aspects of kink, including bootblacking and his own toppish tendencies.

Susan – Toronto, ON

Dyke Cocksucking

She’s also a theory fetishist, so nothing makes her happier than talking about identity, politics, kink and sex all at the same time.
