Alessandra Renzi and Laura Kane – Toronto
Getting Your Pony On: A Beginner’s Guide to Show Ponies
Alessandra and Laura are co-conspirators who juggle their time between performance art, academic life and political activism. They believe that sexuality and desire are important aspects of ethically bridging differences among individuals. Ale and Laura have been exploring animal play, from squirrels and bunnies to a more formalized approach to pony play, for the past few years. This is their first workshop on pony play.

Anika Bergstrom started hanging our with Montreal's Unholy Army in 2003 and has served, organized, taught and found plenty of other kinky mischief to get herself into ever since. She’s a bit of a theory head and loves to ponder and discuss different paradigms of power and pain as well as how and why we get off on what we do. The fact that she has been training and working in the field of mental health for over 15 years probably has something to do with that particular preoccupation. She also has a strong interest in spirituality, both within and outside of the leather world, and has developed a respectable amount of skill in the areas of mindful ritual and transformation.

She has presented on various kink-related topics both in academic and participant-oriented settings (including Unholy Harvest 2008), drawing on her experience as both a grad student and a kinky person. Darlene has volunteered AIDS Committee of Toronto as a chair of the wholistic health advisory committee, has intitiated info forums at community centres to teach the latest in AIDS research and treatment, and has given many lectures on supplements, diet and more.

Joe Hunter is blessed and cursed with an abundance of body hair, and at puberty discovered that the removal of it can be fun! After experimenting for many years with different methods of shaving, about six years ago Joe attended a workshop on straight razors and fell in love with them. Joe’s been an active member in the Toronto Leather community since 2001, having co-ordinated, been involved in and attended many local (Toronto) events. Joe served as Boot Black Toronto 2003, helped organize The 101s (workshops for 18- to 35-year-old young BDSM enthusiasts) and sat on the MLTC Education Committee. Joe presented a seminar on bootblacking at Harvest 2007 and is excited to be back this year.

Leah McCallister is a 43-year-old white, middle class (working class/farm origin), poly femme top/switch who loves lipstick, army boots and fucking with people's assumptions. She holds a Masters in Social Work, advanced training in Psychodramatic Bodywork, and has worked as a therapist with sexual assault/abuse and partner violence survivors and offenders, while also acting as a consultant, educator, writer and activist on a variety of anti-oppression and sexual freedom issues. One of the founding members of the Toronto Women's Bath House Committee, she is also involved with the Acsexxxability Sex Party Planning Committee and the former Toronto Queer Porn Collective and Age of Consent Committees. She has been involved in sex work since she turned 40, when her first (public) porn played at Toronto's Inside Out festival. After initially providing only domme and prostitution services, she was drawn to integrate her therapeutic, psychodramatic bodywork and energy work skills with her sexual and BDSM talents and now offers Sacred Intimate services to those lucky enough to find her in this criminalized world.

A professor, writer, reviser and translator, zibeline began teaching creative writing more than 15 years ago. Under her real name, she writes science fiction with a kinky twist. Her SF has been professionally published both in its French original version and in English translation. Under her nom de plume, she writes erotic BDSM dyke fiction that she self-publishes on her website. She is looking forward to once again merging two of her passions: writing and sex.
