The Art of Submission and Service – dani
What is service? How can one service if they are not in a relationship? What types of service can submissives perform? Combining service and submission is an art; it needs to be learned, practised and refined. Service is not static, it's dynamic, it's movement, it's ever-changing. Like art, submissives have forms of service they enjoy performing and Top have forms and styles of service they prefer to be provided with. This workshop will allow for open discussion about all these questions, will offer a suggested format for servicing a formal dinner and ways for submissives to service when not in a dynamic. This workshop is open to all whether you are experienced in service, just starting your journey or wondering if service is for you. Though Tops are welcome, this workshop will be targeted more towards bottoms.
Beating Ass: Creative Tips for Spanking and Paddling – D. Orchid
The demonstrations and discussions in this workshop will address and build on basic spanking techniques, exploring creative ways to approach spanking, paddling and other ass-beating-related activities in order to achieve a variety of sensations, aims and total experiences. We'll seek answers to questions like: How can setup build anticipation, fear, arousal, embarrassment and more, and become part of your scene? Just how versatile are your bare hands—your palms, fingers, knuckles, and nails? What all can you do with a big flat stick or pair of hairbrushes, your belt or your favorite notebook? Have you thought about more than strike placement? What about rhythm and sound? Heating and cooling elements? Friction and texture? Energy and purpose? Words that tip your bottom over the edge? And when you've accomplished your goal, how do you attend to the aftereffects, whether they seem like "afterglow" or "aftermath"?
Creative Dives into Friction: An Erotica Writing Workshop – Zibeline
You probably already have the erotic writing drive. You most certainly keep, in your mental or emotional notebooks, those special stories in which you are the main character, and for which you and maybe a happy few are the select audience. I do, anyway! The stories that make us hard or wet we call fantasies. Some of us, sometimes, however, feel the need to share those stories, to turn those hot disjointed scenes into full-length fiction for a larger readership. An erotic story, as opposed to our intimate fantasies, is one designed to titillate other readers’ sexual imaginations. This workshop will help participants to convert the latter (fantasies) into the former (the erotic story), using brief presentations followed with practical exercises based on general writing techniques as well as ones that are more specific to erotica. Questions addressed in this workshop will include: definitions of erotica; the telling of erotica; erotic structures; erotic characters; styles of erotica; erotica in action. Bring tools to write and be prepared to dive in!
Note: You’re welcome to share what you’ve produced at the Erotica Open Mic on Sunday evening!
Cutting 101 – Darlene Inglis
Come learn basic safety knowledge about cutting human skin with a surgical instrument (scalpel), including where to cut, how deep you can cut, sterile methods, tools and what to do when the person who’s being cut is bleeding too much or too little. We’ll also discuss some reasons to cut.
Cutting: Advanced Techniques – T’Hayla Ferguson
During this advanced workshop we will demonstrate several techniques for cutting as well as how to fold in some lovely sadistic twists. We will also talk about how cutting can be used to create and enrich your pain processing, your spiritual exchange, your intimate exchange and your power exchange. Though people with every level of experience and knowledge will be welcome, this workshop will not be covering the introductory levels of cutting, nor will it cover blood safety—participants are encouraged to have gathered those experiences and that knowledge before attending. This is a demonstration workshop.
Erotic Leather Care – betty
This practical workshop will help you to make caring for the leather in your life as hot and sexy as possible. We’ll start with hands-on care and mindset exercises that should get at least half of the room moaning, and then move onto practical tips and tricks for caring for leather clothes and boots. I hope to pass along tried and tested information that not only will make you a better bootblack but also ramp up the sexiness of an already sexy business!
Getting Your Pony On: A Beginner’s Guide to Show Ponies – Alessandra Renzi and Laura Kane
From bringing your pony in from the field to tips on grooming, equine care and training techniques, this workshop covers some basic aspects of pony play. We invite participants to explore the conceptual aspect of getting into a space to explore your inner pony and make suggestions for DIY pony equipment and creating a stable in your home.
Heavy Rubber – Anna Peak
I love the second skin of diaphoretic fetish material, latex masks and the very special visual and dramatic act that only rubber can create! This is a practical workshop about latex, latex care, gas and rubber masks, breath control, mummification, rubber worshop and latex session preparations and aftercare.
Hooked: A Flesh Pull Workshop – Elie
Because this workshop deals with advanced play, it is geared towards those who already have a knowledge of body piercing. We will cover the basics (how to set up a work station, avoid cross-contamination, what to do if something goes wrong) and then go over materials, anatomy and hook placement, piercing techniques and different types of flesh pulls (such as dual pulls). The workshop will include a demonstration and welcomes all questions from participants. Though flesh pulling is the main focus of this workshop, participants are welcomed to ask questions about flesh suspension and we'll talk about those as well!
Introduction to Single-Tailed Whips – Sarah Pie
The crack of a whip: evocative and daunting—especially when it’s near someone’s skin. We’ll cover basics on how whips are constructed and thrown, then move on techniques to safely thrill and/or terrorize someone by hitting (or not hitting) them with something that’s moving faster than the speed of sound. Please bring any single-tailed whip you’re interested in learning to throw, especially those shorter than 4 feet long as we’ll be limited for space.
Kinky ASL 101 – Morrigu
This is a workshop to learn basic kinky signs in American Sign Language (ASL). This is geared for any levels of signers who have interest in learning how to convey kinky concepts using ASL. For example, signs for “Master,” “slave,” “kneel,” “pain,” and “pleasure” will be taught. These signs provide another way to communicate in a play scene or outside of a scene. We’ll also cover some basic signs to welcome Deaf people who use ASL to your kinky events. Questions on how to sign a particular concept are encouraged and welcomed!
Kinky Is Not a Diagnosis… Sort Of – Susan
A little kink, a little theory, a little theory about kink… mmm, what could be better? The powers that be who control the DSM (the unholy Bible of mental disorders) have proposed revisions for the paraphilia section that may be significant for those who interact with the mental health system in any way. Let’s discuss!
Master Craft: Pleasure from Canadian Tire – ViK and Val B.
This presentation is a public demonstration of a homemade fuck machine, the Master Craft. The machine is actually made of material everyone can easily find at the Canadian Tire next door. We’ll cover information on how to find your materials, how to build your own fuck machine and how to use and control your fuck machine, as well as health and safety tips, a live demonstration of how Master Craft works, and an invitation to participants who would like to try Master Craft with Val B. and ViK! Participants are welcome to come and see the presenters after the workshop as well.
Mummification – Contessa Alura
This is a hands-on workshop that will explore mummification: the act of tightly wrapping someone with some form of material that restricts movement. We are not talking about the mummification of Egypt or ancient times, even though the process of wrapping is virtually the same, because of the simple fact that we want the person to be alive to enjoy it! We will cover the following: wrapping, unwrapping or removing, safety, fun tips and tricks, psychological aspects, and materials used to mummify. Materials will be provided.
Pervertibles: The World Is Your Toybox – Claire Dalmyn
A “pervertible” is any item used in play that was not originally intended for that purpose. They can be purchased or made from materials that can be found everywhere; they're often less expensive and easier to travel with than specifically-purposed toys. Plus, thinking pervertibility unlocks tasty realms of kinky possibility and fun new ways of engaging with the world! Claire will begin with a brief introduction on pervertibles as a concept and how she's using this idea in her thesis project (a bonus for guests who groove on kinky theory), highlighting the versatility and playful potential of pervertibles with specific examples. Participants are invited to bring favourite re-purposed and homemade toys for a round of show-and-tell; physical objects, descriptions, stories and quick DIY demos all welcome. The session will conclude with a field trip to a nearby dollar store for a spicy scavenger hunt!
Shaving as a Fetish: Fun with Straight Razors – Joe Hunter
If the feel of cold steel against hot flesh turns you on, this workshop is for you! The removal of body hair can be a solo journey, a prelude to a great scene or a scene on its own. Shaving can be enjoyed as a Top or bottom; as the assertion of dominance or an act of submission; to play with terror or excitement; or for practical reasons. This workshop will focus primarily on straight razors, as well as safety razors for the more squeamish. Safety issues, hygiene concerns, lubricating products and ways to shave different parts of the body will be covered. There will be hands-on portion with straight razors so come prepared to shave... a balloon that is! (Feel free to bring any straight razors if you have, otherwise some will be provided.)
Warming Up for Athletics or Kink – Tania
Sports carry traditions about how to warm up, but not all of them are based on solid scientific grounds, and not all of them are suitable to everyone. How can someone tailor a warm-up that's good for them? Why warm up at all? Kinksters sometimes perform very physical scenes that could call for a warm-up. How can one figure out what to do? During this presentation, I'll talk about my personal experience with warm-up, the principles I've developed, and how to pervert them.
